We opened the doors to our first cafe on Auckland’s High Street in 1995, at about the same time as New Zealand’s first awakening to the pleasures of a fine cup of coffee.

Until then we had been a nation of devout tea drinkers. The conversion had begun and has continued without letting up to the present day.

You can buy espresso coffee in virtually every town, no matter how small, across the country. Today Columbus Coffee has locations across the country – with more to come. We have enjoyed sharing our enjoyment and knowledge of great coffee to an ever growing number of people.

Our goal today is the same as it was on that first day in ’95:

To bring you the best and freshest coffee available anywhere in the world and to make it as easy as possible for you to buy.

Coffee must be fresh – freshly roasted, freshly ground and freshly brewed.
